Abstract
The effect of serum added to a modified SOF medium on pulsatile activity an d hatching of in vitro produced cow blastocysts was investigated by time-la pse cinematography. Embryos were generated from abattoir material and cultu red in mSOF without serum or with 10% FCS added at 42 h pi. Addition of ser um significantly increases pulsatile activity before zona rupture and reduc es the time of hatching. Pulsatile activity does not seem to be involved in the hatching process.
