Abstract
Characteristics of the process of cracking have been studied and their eval uation based on the experimental investigation of reinforced and prestresse d concrete beams subjected to short term load with unloading has been carri ed out. The relations between strains and the characteristics of cracking a re explained in the paper. The relationship between the reversible part of crack opening density and the crack opening density immediately before unlo ading is also presented.
