Abstract
A simple CMOS digital controlled oscillator (DCO) is developed for digital phase-lock-loop and digital communication applications. The new DCO has a v ery simple structure with high linearity and resolution. For example, a fou r-bit DCO requires only fifteen MOS transistors. The new DCO has a tuning r ange from 15 MHz to 29 MHz. The maximum power consumption at 29 MHz is equa l to 5.5 mW.
