Abstract
This paper addresses the design of Colpitts oscillators for 1GHz applicatio ns. The starting point is the three-point oscillator theory, from which the resonance conditions will be obtained. Utilizing these results, a Colpitts oscillator is designed and also realized in the SMD technique. Several exp erimental results are presented and discussed, showing the applicability of the design technique used. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
