Measurements of electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and specifi
c heat on an as-cast polycrystal sample CeNi2Sn2 are reported. From the fre
quency and field dependence of the chi (ae) and chi (de) above TN, a spin g
lass state with two freezing temperatures T-f1 = 3.9K and T-f2 = 4.4 K corr
esponding to the tetragonal and monoclinic phases of CeNi2Sn2, separately,
are proposed. Some comparable intriguing experimental facts are the behavio
rs with anomalies observed in C(T), chi (ae)(T) and chi (de)(T) measurement
s. A qualitative description for the anomalous physical properties of CeNi2
Sn2 compound is provided from the viewpoint of spin glass.
