Abstract
Fixed-in variable-out wavelength conversion using a cascaded chi ((2)) base d quasiphase matching (QPM) LiNbO3 waveguide is proposed and demonstrated f or the first time. In this method, the QPM wavelength of the wavelength con verter is set to be consistent with the fixed-wavelength of a pulse signal (lambda (s)). and a cw control signal with a moderate power (wavelength mum ) is used to change the wavelength (lambda (c)) of the converted light. It is shown that fixed signal at h, can be converted to any wavelength in a ra nge as broad as 80 nm by using a 4-cm-long device.
