Abstract
A novel methodology; for the enzymatic preparation from suitably derivatize d oligosaccharides of N-linked neoglycopeptides using the microbial glutami nyl-peptide gamma -glutamyl transferase, transglutaminase (TGase), is descr ibed, N-Allyl glycosides of various oligosaccharides were photochemically c oupled with cysteamine to yield amino-terminated thioether spacers, which w ere accepted by transglutaminase to transamidate the side-chain gamma -carb oxamide group in the dipeptide Z-Gln-Gly.
