O. Vigil et al., Modification of the properties of chemically deposited CdS thin films grown under magnetic field and variable growing parameters, MATER RES B, 36(3-4), 2001, pp. 521-530
CdS thin films were grown by chemical bath deposition (CBD) method on glass
substrates under a constant magnetic field, at different deposition temper
atures and thiourea concentrations. The optical, electrical and structural
evolution as a function of the above mentioned parameters were characterize
d. A combination of deposition temperature and thiourea concentration was o
btained with optimal result, i.e., that which produces the highest band-gap
energy (BGE) and the smallest resistivity under the magnetic field. On the
basis of the optical and structural characterization, we found that in the
evolution of BGE, quantum confinements effects are present. (C) 2001 Elsev
