Abstract
Domains consisting of J aggregates in a single monolayer deposited on a silica substrate were probed by scanning near-field optical microsco py. Since the fluorescence intensity changes smoothly from the center to the edge of a domain, it is likely that the J aggregates are homoge neously distributed in each domain of the monolayer.
