Abstract
(Pb1-x,Ca-x)(Zr1-y,Ti-y)O-3 (PCZT) perovskite type ceramics exhibit microwa ve dielectric properties of high dielectric constant (epsilon (r)), high un loaded Q and small temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (tau (f)). However, the sintering temperature was as high as 1450 degreesC and the mi crostructure and dielectric properties were difficult to control due to hig h PbO volatility. In this paper, we report the effect of PbO loss on micros tructure and microwave dielectric properties of PCZT ceramics. Suppression of PbO loss by B-site ion substitution in PCZT was also investigated. (C) 2 001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
