Results concerning domain wall propagation in Fe77.5Si7.5B15 and Co39Fe39Si
7B15 glass covered amorphous wires tested before and after glass removal ar
e presented. The domain wall velocity depends linearly on the drive magneti
c field. The critical field of reverse domain nucleation decreases with inc
reasing the wire diameter, The drive magnetic field is higher for Co39Fe39S
i7B15 glass covered amorphous wires than for conventional ones (with diamet
ers of 80-300 x 10(-6) m) having the same compositions, the critical field
of reverse domain nucleation being one to two order of magnitude higher. Af
ter glass removal a decrease of the nucleation and drive fields was observe
d. The domain wall mobility increases for amorphous wires after the glass r
