Abstract
A new hexaphenyl-substituted monomer-dianhydride of 4,4'-bis(2,3,6-tripheny l-4,5-dicarboxy-phenyl)benzophenone-was synthesized. The reaction of this c ompound with varying aromatic diamines yielded a series of new phenylated p oly(imides), the majority of which are soluble in various organic solvents. The thermal, mechanical, electrical, and optical properties of the resulti ng polymers were studied.
