Tv. Raskulova et al., Effect of solvent on the copolymerization of vinyl chloride with 1-(vinyloxyethoxy)propylene oxide-2,3, POLYM SCI B, 43(3-4), 2001, pp. 77-80
The effect of aprotic solvents on the free-radical copolymerization of 1-(v
inyloxyethoxy)propylene oxide-2,3 with vinyl chloride was studied. It was s
hown that the nature of the used solvent affects the copolymer composition
and the kinetics of free-radical copolymerization: the apparent reaction ra
te constant and the ratio of the rare constants for chain growth and termin
ation. A relationship between the copolymer composition and the Hildebrandt
solubility parameters of the examined solvents was determined.
