The synthesis of some novel polyoxyalkyleneamine grafted paramagnetic suppo
rts for use in chemical and biological applications is described. These com
posite supports were synthesized by utilizing power ultrasound to enhance t
he level of incorporation of certain high molecular weight, polyoxyalkylene
amine (Jeffamine(R)) polymers into the matrix of a chloromethylated paramag
netic support. These new composite paramagnetic supports show excellent exp
ansion properties in both organic solvents and water. The use of these graf
ted supports for multi-step solid-phase synthesis was then demonstrated by
