Abstract
The mode of incorporation into nicotinamide of label from C-13-labeled samp les of D-glucose, in Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, was det ermined by means of C-13 NMR spectroscopy. The results, which confirm and e xtend early studies with radioactive tracers, permit a definitive choice to be made between alternative biogenetic proposals.
