The paper considers methodologies for measurement and data processing algor
ithms in determination of the groundwater level based on remote sensing and
ground information about the hydrological and dielectric properties of soi
ls. In accordance with the approach developed, practical work is carried ou
t to estimate the depth of groundwater in a test territory (region of the B
elov reservoir in the Kemerov district) using radiometric and optical remot
e sensing and also a ground database. The results are presented in the form
of a schematic map showing the isolines for levels of groundwater lying ne
ar the surface.
