Detection of Saccharomyces cerevisiae carboxylesterase activity after native and sodium dodecyl sulfate electrophoresis by using fluorescein diacetate as substrate
G. Lomolino et al., Detection of Saccharomyces cerevisiae carboxylesterase activity after native and sodium dodecyl sulfate electrophoresis by using fluorescein diacetate as substrate, ELECTROPHOR, 22(6), 2001, pp. 1021-1023
A simple method for the visualisation of wine yeast esterase (carboxylester
ase EC 3.1.1.1)activity on electrophoretic gels was developed, using the fl
uorescent substrate fluorescein diacetate. The zymogram system allows a sen
sitive detection of esterase bands in only 5 min of incubation of both nati
ve and sodium dodecyl sulfate gels.
