Co(III) hexamethylenedithiocarbamate has been applied as a collector in col
loid notation preconcentration of ed from water prior to electrothermal ato
mic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS). AU experimental parameters necessary f
or successful flotation have been studied and optimized. The ETASS results
were compared with these obtained by inductive coupled plasma-atomic emissi
on spectrometry (ICP-AES). The ETAAS detection limit was found to be 0.003
mug L-1 Cd.
