Hydrolytic studies on C5Me5TiCl3 and C5Me5TiMe3 resulted in the isolation o
f [(C5Me5)(4)Ti4Cl2](mu -O)(5) (2a) and [C5Me5TiMe2](2)(mu -O) (1). Compoun
d 2a further reacted with Me3SnF to yield [(CsMe5)(4)Ti4F2](mu -O)(5) (2b).
Furthermore, the reactivity of 2b toward AlMe3 has been investigated and r
esults in the formation of [(C5Me5)(4)Ti4Me2](mu -O)(5) (2c). Crystal struc
tures of I and 2c have been established.
