Abstract
\We report the first ease of Mycobacterium lentiflavum disseminated infecti on in a human immunodeficiency virus-infected patient. Conventional identif ication procedures failed to identify the mycobacterial strain, but sequenc ing of the 16S rRNA gene led to tile species identification. Furthermore e, we describe here the analysis of the 16S-23S rRNA internal transcribed spa cer sequence of M. lentiflavum.
