Jh. Shin et al., SECONDARY CRANIOFACIAL MANAGEMENT FOLLOWING INITIAL CORRECTION OF NONSYNDROMIC CRANIOSYNOSTOSIS, Clinics in plastic surgery, 24(3), 1997, pp. 415
After initial operations for nonsyndromic craniosynostosis, patients m
ay present for secondary correction as a feature of staged treatment o
f this condition or with problems that are sequelae of the initial con
dition or operation, such as undercorrection, a relapse of the deformi
ty, or an induced new deformity associated with surgical intervention.
The authors seek to establish some strategies for the evaluation and
treatment of these secondary problems and to present options for the p
revention of some common late findings.
