Abstract
This paper presents the regularities of the Nd distribution in YAG:Nd2+ cry stals grown from solution in the melt. It is shown that increasing the Nd c oncentration in the bulk of the crystals during growth (distribution factor k <1) is accompanied by regular variations of the dopant concentration, as sociated with the growth conditions and the crystal morphology. Factors are considered that determine the framework within which the Nd distribution f actor in the test crystals can be used. (C) 2001 The Optical Society of Ame rica.
