Aesthetic surgery of the facial skeleton has developed from the merger
of aesthetic and craniofacial surgery. This article describes the avo
idance and successful management of complications from aesthetic facia
l contouring. in particular, the authors discuss the treatment of four
major anatomic areas that are often addressed in facial contouring pr
ocedures: the forehead, the temporal region, the mandibular angle, and
the malar-midface region.
