Abstract
The rolling piston type-rotary compressor has been widely used for refriger ation and air-conditioning systems due tea its compactness and high-speed o peration, The present analysis is part of a research program directed towar d maximizing the advantages of refrigerant compressors, The study of lubric ation characteristics in critical sliding components is essential for the d esign of refrigerant compressors, Therefore, theoretical investigation of t he lubrication characteristics of a rotary compressor used for refrigeratio n and air-conditioning systems was studied. The Newton-Raphson method was u sed for the partial elastohydrodynamic lubrication analysis between the van e and the railing piston of a rotary compressor. The results showed that th e rotational speed of a shaft and the discharge pressure significantly infl uence the friction force and the energy loss between the vane and the rolli ng piston.
