Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical method used to realize a I-D photonic ban dgap (PBG) resonator antenna. Studies in the frequency and space domain wer e made to determine the properties of the material. Then a 1-D PBG resonato r antenna was designed and some characteristics of the antenna were shown a s the radiation pattern, the linear, and the circular polarization. The res ults show that such a device permits us to obtain high gain with a very thi n structure. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
