Acceleration of recovery after injury to the peripheral nervous system using ultrasound, and other therapeutic modalities

The authors review the use of lasers, direct electrical stimulation, and ul trasound to treat peripheral nerve neuropathies. All modalities show promis e for eventual clinical application. All require further work to document t heir safety and the mechanisms by which they work.
