Abstract
The ERIS project is aimed at a partial reconstruction of the KUTI-20 a ccelerator into an installation for obtaining highly charged ions and the investigation of them. It is supposed to produce ions in dense ele ctron rings confined at 2-3 cm radii with a 75-80 ms lifetime. Some re sults of the reconstruction and installation tuning are presented in t his publication.
