S. Koehler et Cp. Bove, Hydrocharitaceae from central Brazil: A new species of Egeria and a note on Apalanthe granatensis, NOVON, 11(1), 2001, pp. 63-66
Egeria heterostemon (Hydrocharitaceae), a new species from central Brazil,
is described and illustrated. It is distinguished from congeneric species b
y its flowers having hetero morphic whorls of stamens, and by its long-stal
ked clavate staminodes, which are strongly papillose distally. Further, tax
onomic notes: on Apalanthe granatensis (Humboldt & Bonpland) Planchon are p
resented, and a key to species of both genera is provided.
