The [Co(C3O4H2)(H2O)(2.5)](2), [Co(C3O4H2)(H2O)](2), {NH4[Fe(C3O4H2)(2)(H2O
)]}(2) and (NH4)(2)[Fe2Co(C3O4H2)(2)(OH)(6)(H2O)(2)] coordination compounds
were synthesized and characterized by chemical analysis, vibrational and e
lectronic spectra and thermal analysis. For the [Co(C3O4H2)(H2O)(2.5)](2) c
ompound a thermocromic phenomenon was identified. The Values of the non-iso
thermal kinetic parameters for the dehydration step were determined. The fi
nal products resulted from the thermal decomposition of the coordination co
mpounds are spinel oxides: CO3O4, Fe(3)Q(4)/gamma Fe2O3 and CoFe2O4, respec
tivelly.
