Abstract
Four monomers containing azomethine linkages and 1-naphthyl groups at the e xtremities were synthesized by coupling reaction of 1-naphthylaldehyde or 1 -naphthylamine with two diamines and two dialdehydes, respectively. The cor responding polymers were obtained by chemical oxidation using anhydrous FeC l3. Both monomers and polymers were investigated by IR, UV and H-1-NMR meth ods.
