The particular aspects of the formation and stability, of polysalts obtaine
d by the reaction between one polycation of integral type with (N,N-dimethy
l-2-hydroxypropylene ammonium chloride) units in the main chain (PCA(5)) an
d poly(sodium styrenesulfonate) (NaPSS) as polyanion were, followed in this
work. The complex formation in diluted aqueous solutions and the polyelect
rolyte complexes (PECs) behaviour ill the presence of NaCl were followed by
viscometry, conductometry and W-VIS spectroscopy. Stoichiometric PECs were
obtained, independently of the molar ratio between NaPSS and PCA,.
