Abstract
A series of isostructural metal complexes with 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosph onic acid H4L of the composition [(C2H5)(2)NH2](2)[M(H2O)(2)(H2L)(2)], M = Mg, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cu, were studied by IR spectroscopy. The dependence of the stretching frequencies of the monodentate phosphonate group PO3H- of th e ligand on the nature of the M . . .O(P) bond was discussed.
