Abstract
Reaction of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine with propagyl bromide in dry acetonitrile yields either 1,1-dimethyl-1-(2-propynyl)hydrazinium bromide or 1,3-bis(1, 1-dimethylhydrazinio)propene dibromide depending on the reactant ratio. Rea ction of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine with 1,3-dibromopropyne at the equimolar rea ctant ratio gives 1,1-dimethyl-1-(3-bromo-2-propynyl)hydrazinium bromide, w hile with 1,1-dimethylhydrazine taken in excess 1,3-bis(1,1-dimethyhydrazin io)propadiene is formed.
