Y. Matsuda et al., Precise sound velocity measurement by laser ultrasound and its applicationto temperature measurement of solid materials, ANAL SCI, 17, 2001, pp. S219-S220
A sound velocity measurement system based on high frequency laser ultrasoun
d has been developed. The system employs a 140 MHz ultrasonic rf burst gene
rated using a mode-locked laser and pulse-echo-overlap method for precise v
elocity measurement. As an application, longitudinal velocity in a [100] si
licon single crystal 0.45 mm thick was measured with a precision of 160 ppm
at room temperature.
