Abstract
The temporal photoacoustic response of dissolved and dispersed absorbers (g lucose and colloidal graphite) in aqueous systems have been studied by use of a time resolved technique. The logarithm of the photoacoustic signal amp litude changes linearly with the time delay, with a slope which is proporti onal to the product of the acoustic velocity and the optical absorption coe fficient which can thus be determined.
