Abstract
Employing base-promote intromolecular Michael addition as a pivotal st ep, 3-(3-hydroxybutyl)-2-buten-4-olide (1, 3 and 5) have been converte d to disubstitued-1, 7-dioxaspiro[4.4]nonan-8-one(2, 4 and 6) under di fferent conditions.
