New biodegradable and biocompatible copolymers poly (phosphate-urethan
e)a with elevated molecular weight were synthesized by the polycondens
ation of Ser-Tyr or Tyr-Tyr dipeptide and phosphorodichloridate and fo
llowed by reacting with 1,4-butane-di-isocyanate, The chemical structu
res were confirmed by H-1 NMR, FTIR and elemental analysis, The molecu
lar weight, and thermostability of these polymers were investigated, T
he in vitro degradation and bovine serum albumin(BSA) release profile
were also studied, It was found that the degradation rate of the mater
ials and BSA release behavior can be modulated by varying the hydrohob
ic properties of these poly (phosphate-urethane)s.
