Abstract
Oestrogen receptor (ER) is used routinely to predict endocrine responsivene ss in patients with breast cancer. A second ER, ER beta has been described but its significance remains undefined; most studies have described mRNA le vels rather than protein expression. Here, we demonstrate for the first tim e, immunohistochemical detection of ER beta in archival breast tumours. (C) 2001 Cancer Research Campaign.
