Residual driving stresses in piles are determined with a new stress-wave pr
ogram. The program has some interesting features, such as the displacement
stabilization accomplished by an analysis for a longer time, until zeroing
particle velocity at the pile toe. A parametric study of the development of
residual stresses in a steel pile shows interesting aspects related to the
effects of toe resistance, shaft friction resistance distribution, and dri
ving energy. A comparison is made between the application of available solu
tions and the new program.
