Abstract
The time-resolved photoinduced dissociation process of a diatomic molecule (CsCl) was investigated both theoretically and experimentally. It is shown that by applying a sequence of two different laser pulses the dissociation process may be controlled, according to the Tanner-Rice scheme. Using feedb ack-controled optimization algorithms a self-learning system has been reali zed, which is able to control the product channel without a priori knowledg e on the molecular potential surfaces.
