Abstract
An in vitro study of the activity of 10 oral agents against 153 pediatric i solates of Streptococcus pneumoniae identified moxifloxacin and levofloxaci n as the most active agents regardless of penicillin or macrolide susceptib ility. Moxifloxacin inhibited all strains at 0.25 mug/ml and was 8- to 16-f old more potent than levofloxacin. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science inc. All right s reserved.
