Abstract
A theoretical study of the effect of feed concentration on the prepara tive performance of liquid chromatography has been performed for syste ms having solute-concentration-dependent selectivity. The investigatio ns were based on the numerical simulations of a detailed rate-equation model and the local equilibrium distribution between the fluid and ad sorbed phases is assumed to follow a quadratic isotherm. The eliminati on and the utilisation of the selectivity reversal have been discussed in terms of the optimisation of the preparative performance.
