Abstract
Time-domain equivalent edge currents (TD-EEC) are developed for the transie nt scattering analysis, The development is based on the Fourier inversion o f frequency domain equivalent edge current expressions. Thr time-domain dif fracted fields are expressed in terms of a contour integral along the diffr acting edges for any arbitrary input pulse shape, thereby yielding finite r esults at the caustics of diffracted rays. The approach also eliminates the need for the evaluation of a con convolution integral in the time domain g eometrical theory of diffraction (GTD) analysis. The results are compared w ith the first order GTD results for the transient scattering analysis for a circular disk.
