A plate-liquid-plate (PLP) acoustic resonator is used to measure the acoust
ic velocity of liquids. An analytical model of the electrical input impedan
ce of tile resonator is proposed. Theoretical results are compared with exp
erimental measurements using reference liquids. Accuracy of the sound veloc
ity calculation is found to be better than 1%, Finally, factors limiting th
e achievable accuracy are discussed.
