The thermal pyrolysis of carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl sesbania gum and
hydroxypropyl sesbania gum in air and nitrogen atmospheres were studie
d in order to establish the thermal stability of carboxymethyl hydroxy
propyl sesbania gum. The results indicate that the stability of carbox
ymethyl hydroxypropyl sesbania gum against pyrolysis is higher than th
at of hydroxypropyl sesbania gum. The main state of carboxymethyl hydr
oxypropyl sesbania gum and hydroxypropyl sesbania gum can be assigned
as random noncrystalline.
