Abstract
In this paper we will analyse the behaviour of diffuse-object holograms rec orded with the SHSG processing technique where the refractive-index modulat ion within the material will be the merit function to optimize the process. The behaviour of this merit function for several wavelengths will allow th e understanding of the image formation mechanism for the SHSG process.
