The propagation of polarized light via the surface droplets of a ferroelect
ric liquid crystal film has been considered. The dependences of the transmi
ttance and contrast ratio (CR) of such a film on realization of the coheren
t transmittance quenching effect for a linearly polarized laser beam on the
film's parameters and the collection angle have been analysed. The scope f
or CR enhancement in the film has been shown.
