Abstract
Reaction of N(CH2CHRO)(3)GeBr (2a, b) with LiC drop CPh affords N(CH2CHRO)( 3)GeC drop CPh (1a, b) (a, R = H; b, R = Me) Compound (1b) was also obtaine d by treatment of Cl3GeC drop CPh (3) with N(CH2CHMeOSnEt3)(3) (4). (1a) re acts with N-bromo-succinimide to yield N(CH2CH2O)(3)GeC(Br)(2)C(O)Ph (5). C is-N(CH2CH2O)(3)GeC(Br)=C(Br)Ph (6) is formed by the reaction of la with Br , in equivalent amounts. All compounds were characterized by H-1- and C-13- NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Single crystal structures of 1a and 6 were determined by X-ray diffraction studies.
