Abstract
The mutual solubilities and liquid-liquid equilibria of nitromethane ternar y and quaternary systems with liquid solvents are reviewed. The solvents in clude water, inorganic compounds, and a variety of organic compounds such a s hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols, acids, esters, and nitr ogen compounds. A total of 107 ternary and eight quaternary systems whose p roperties were described in the chemical literature through 1998 are compil ed. For 22 systems, sufficient data were available to allow critical evalua tion. All data are expressed as mass and mole fractions as well as the orig inally reported units. Similar reviews of gas, liquid, and solid solubiliti es for other systems have been published in the frame of Solubility Data Se ries. This is the 72 volume of this series.
