Abstract
A new diacylgalactolipid was isolated from the marine cyanobacterium Oscill atoria sp., and the structure was elucidated as (2S)-3-O-beta -D-galactopyr anosyl-1-O-(9Z,12Z-oc- tadecadienoyl)-2-O-(4Z-hexadecenoyl)glycerol by enzy matic partial hydrolysis using lipase and physicochemical evidence, which i ncluded determining the double bond position in the hexadecenoic acid moiet y.
